Privacy Policy

I, Jakub Hałun, respect the right of the users of this application to privacy, and I make every reasonable effort not to collect any data other than those required for the proper operation of the application or those gathered to improve the usability of my products.

1. No data that could in any way enable the identification (establishing the identity) of the User is collected by the application or made available to any third parties.

2. All data created by the application is stored only locally on the User's device. This includes: the “Start with last used location” preference, the last used and recently used locations, recently searched places, cached daylight calculation results, widget settings, and saved sunrise/sunset alarms (including the location they were set for). This data is never transmitted anywhere and is removed when the application's data is cleared or the application is uninstalled.

3. The device location is read only after an explicit action by the User (tapping “Get device location” or “Use Current Location (GPS)”), never in the background. It is used solely on the device to calculate sunrise and sunset times and to display the name of the nearest place from an offline database. The location permission is optional — the application is fully usable with manually selected locations.

4. The application uses external services, such as Google AdMob and Firebase Analytics, which may automatically collect certain data, including device identifiers (e.g., advertising ID, IP address, operating system information). These data are used for purposes such as displaying ads and analyzing application usage statistics. More details on the privacy policies of these services can be found here:

5. The application does not collect, request, or use any age-related data; however, if Google Play provides non-identifying age-range signals required by local laws in certain U.S. states, the app may receive them without storing or processing them further.

6. The application has the following permissions:

Location – used to show daylight data for the User's current position. Optional; read only on an explicit action of the User and never in the background.

Alarms & reminders (exact alarms) – used so that a sunrise/sunset alarm saved by the User fires at the exact time. Requested only when an alarm is saved; revocable at any time.

Notifications – used to show and sound the notification when a sunrise/sunset alarm fires.

Run at startup – used to re-register saved alarms and refresh the home-screen widget after the device restarts.

Internet access – this permission is required for displaying advertisements from Google AdMob and for enabling anonymous usage statistics via Firebase Analytics. The application itself does not send any data over the network.

Communication with Google Services (Google Play Services) – used to ensure proper functionality of ad serving and Firebase Analytics.

Account Deletion

My app, Daylight, is a straightforward tool that does not offer or support the creation of user accounts. As such, it neither collects nor stores any personal data associated with individual user accounts.

Since it does not have the functionality to create user accounts, the process for account deletion is not applicable.

Therefore, there is no mechanism within Daylight for users to create or delete accounts.
